Kuzu is one of Japan's important and time tested folk medicines. Kuzu helps alkaline ones system. It is also an unsurpassed thickening agent.

Kuzu is made from the root of the hardy wild Kuzu plant. Kuzu adds a unique smooth texture to sauces, soups, noodle broths, custards etc.

Kuzu is prepared by crushing 1-2 teaspooms of Kuzu with 1 cup of liquid. Dissolve thoroughly with cold liquid before adding to soups, broths, custard etc and cook on a low heat until Kuzu becomes transparent.
